When there are multiple open generations for a single lot item and, based on a date range selection, one or more of these generations are listed on the report, Eclipse displays the same subtotal for each generation listed on the report. This generation subtotal is the open Lot Price for the Lot Item, and is not a generation-specific subtotal. This is due to the nature of Lot Item totals, where we only have one Lot Price and one Lot Cost per lot item, regardless of the number of open shipments.
For example, consider an order that includes the product called "Siemens Lot Bill Item," with a product status of "LotItem," an open Lot Price of $5000, an open Lot Cost of $3750, and the following three open shipdates: 12/28/00, 12/31/00, and 01/05/01. If the date range selected for the report is 12/31/00 through 01/06/01, then the following two generations are displayed on the report with the same Subtotal:
12/31/00 with a Subtotal = $5000 (open Lot Price)
01/05/01 with a Subtotal = $5000 (open Lot Price)
When you see multiple generations listed on the report for the same lot item, same sales order number, and the Subtotal is the same for each generation, you need to interpret this as being: one lot item valued at $5000 with two open shipdates. It is not one lot item with a value of $10,000.
Lot item totals are not generation-specific until the generation has been invoiced.
