The Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services® (SSRS) tool is part of a suite of Microsoft SQL Server tools to which Eclipse can integrate as of Release 9.0.1. The SSRS interface lets you display your created charts and graphics inside your Solar Main window using a Solar Widget specifically designed to read and interpret the SQL information.
In order to use the SSRS SQL interface effectively, use your SSRS tool and create the reports and other collateral that you want to display in the Solar Desktop on a regular basis. Then do the following:
Use the SSRS Setup control maintenance record to identify how and where you want Eclipse to retrieve SSRS charts or reports by entering details such as IP addresses, domains, and server information.
Use the SQL Widget Maintenance to define the reports you want to which you want to allow access and assign authorization keys to limit viewing by personnel in your company.
Use the SQL Report Parameters on the SQL Widget Setup window to create defaults for the report parameters, such as a date range, to ensure that the appropriate information always displays.
Once you have set up how you want the system to retrieve your SQL data for SSRS reports and collateral, then you can add the SQL Widget for each report you want to display.
