INVM Inventory Counting Parameters Control Maintenance Records

The following control maintenance records belong to the INVM (Inventory Management) category and apply to counting inventory.

Cycle Count Queuing Enabled

For each branch, indicate whether to enable cycle count queuing. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - Enables cycle count queuing.

  • No - Does not enable cycle count queuing.

Outcome of setting this control record

When cycle count queuing is enabled, the system logs negative quantities, over-commitments, and invoice quantity edits to the Count Queue file. You can then generate cycle count queue from information in this file.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

For more information about cycle counting, see Cycle Counting Specific Utilities Overview.

Disable Cycle Count Generation In SOE

Complete this record if you use the Cycle Count Queue.

For each shipping branch, indicate whether to disable automatic cycle count generation in sales order entry when an item is short shipped. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - The system does not generate a cycle count.

  • No - The system generates a cycle count.

  • Prompt - The system prompts the user to select whether to complete a cycle count is necessary in sales order entry.

Outcome of setting this control record

If set to No, the system generates the cycle count when an item is shipped short of the order quantity. If you want the user to decide if it is necessary to complete a count of the product that is short shipped, select Prompt.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

For more information about cycle counting, see Cycle Counting Specific Utilities Overview.

Your selection here determines if the message: "** Tag/Review Do NOT Include in Count" displays on the printed count sheet.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

For more information, see Printing Count Sheets or Count Cards in the Manual Warehouse documentation.

Generate Cycle Count When Transfer Ship Quantities Change

Complete this record if your company uses the Cycle Count Queue.

For each branch, indicate whether the system generates a cycle count when the quantity for a product changes on a shipped transfer generation. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - Updates the Cycle Count Queue for that product.

  • No - Does not update the Cycle Count Queue for that product.

Outcome of setting this control record

Creates an entry in the Cycle Count Queue for the product if its quantity changes on a closed transfer order. Setting this field to Yes triggers the cycle count for the lack of availability of a product.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

The system sends an item to the Cycle Count Queue in one of three ways: negative on-hand in a bin location, over-commitment of inventory, and a manual backorder on a sales order (when the ship quantity of a ticket is lowered after the ticket has already processed). This control maintenance record applies to manual backorders for transfers.

Options

  • S - Stock

  • L - Display

  • F - Defective

  • O - Over Shipment

  • R - Review

Outcome of setting this control record

Controls which product types are included in the Generate Control File for physical inventory counting purposes.

Default Value(s)

Additional Information

This record also controls which product location types the system updates. The system does not update tagged on-hand locations.

For more information about count control files, see Generate Count Control Files.

Only Include Current Advanced Cycle Count In Calculations

New In Release 9.0.4

Indicate if you want to include only the advanced cycle count calculations when populating the Progress tab in Advanced Cycle Counting. Prior to this release, if a location was counted, regardless of the reason, the system included the location in the Advanced Cycle Count calculation. The system only checked the Last Count Date in Location Maintenance. Now, the system stores the count dates. The default is No.

Physical Count Days To Keep For Advanced Cycle Counts

New in Release 9.0.4

Indicate how many days you want to keep non-RF physical counts before the counts are removed. Keeping the counts for several days allows users to opportunity to run the count variances reports and run and update for the physical on-hand. Prior to this new record, the system was hard coded to 5 days. The default is 5 days. For more information about advanced cycle counting, see Setting Up Advanced Cycle Counting in the Warehouse Management documentation.
