POE Prompts Control Maintenance Records

The following control maintenance record belongs to the POE (Purchase Order Entry) category and applies to prompts.

Broken Tags - Require Reason For Breakage

You can define the reasons, by branch, for breaking a tag. When an authorized user is breaking a tag, the system displays a message that prompts you to select the reason. Set the reasons for breaking the tag in the control record for each branch or you can choose a territory that the reasons apply to.

If you do not enter any reasons in the control record, then the system does not display the message prompting for a reason. By default, there are not any reasons in the control record.

Creating Reasons

Establish the broken tag reasons as follows.

  1. In the Branch field, open the  Branch and Territory Selection list.

  2. On the list, select one from the Territories list or from the Branches list.
Note: Only one can be selected at a time. By selecting a territory, you are making the reasons available to all the branches in the territory.

  3. Select OK.

  4. In the Reason section, select an empty line, and then enter the reason.

  5. Press Enter, and then enter the next reason.

  6. After you enter all the reasons for the territory or branch, select Save.

  7. In the Reason for Change box, enter the description, and then select OK.

Copying Reasons

You can copy the codes from one territory or branch  to another as follows.

  1. In the Branch field, open the  Branch and Territory Selection list.

  2. From the Territories list or from the Branches list, select one that you will copy the reasons from..
Note: Only one can be selected at a time.

  3. Select OK.
The system displays the list of reasons for the selected territory or branch.

  4. Select the Copy To button.
The system displays the copy selection box.

  5. In the Copy To field, open the  Branch and Territory Selection list.

  6. On the list, select one from the Territories list or from the Branches list, and then select OK.

  7. Select OK to copy the reasons.
Reasons copied to another territory or branch overwrite any reasons previously entered.

The system displays the reasons for the selected territory or branch.

Disable Prompt To Close Warehouse In-Process When Receiving PO

When receiving a purchase order, the system displays a message box for you to indicate if you want to close the warehouse in-process task related to the order. With this Control Record setting, you can choose to not have this message box display or not.

When you set the Control Record to Y, the system will not display this message box.

The default for the Control Record setting is N. When receiving a purchase order, the system displays a message box to prompt you to indicate if you want to close the task in the Warehouse in-process Queue related to the order or not.

Prompt For Lot ID On Process Of P/O

Indicate whether the system prompts for a lot ID when it processes a lot item on a purchase order.

User Level For Max $ P/O Without Authorization

Set the maximum amount to create an order without authorization. The level limits work for regular purchase orders, procurement orders, direct orders, suggested orders, and when creating an

order using the API.

For each location (either territory or branch), you can define the amount levels. The hierarchy is branch over territory. Then with the levels set, you can assign a level to a user in User Maintenance.

  1. To set a level, select the Territory or Branch.

  2. In the Max Dollar Amount field, enter the dollar amount.

  3. Then in the Level field, assign a level number. You can make as many levels as needed.

The system sets the default value for each available territory and branch to $99999999.99, without a level. This means there are no restrictions set. You find this control record only in Solar, but the settings affect ETERM orders also.
