No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

None

Lock Tote To Order In RF Picking

For each branch, indicate whether to lock the tote to the order when using RF for picking an order. ClosedMore:

Options

  • No - The system ignores the lock order to tote logic.

  • Yes - If you attempt to scan a tote to an item when that tote has already been scanned to an item on a different order, the system displays a warning message indicating that the tote is locked to order number xxxxx and that the picker is not allowed to assign the tote to the newly selected item.

  • Prompt - If you attempt to scan a tote to an item when that tote has already been scanned to an item on a different order, the system displays a warning message indicating that the tote is locked to order number xxxxx. The picker can override the initial lock and assign the scanned tote to the newly selected item.

Outcome of setting this control record

Prevents multiple orders in the same tote. After an item is put in a tote, that tote is locked so only items from that order can be scanned to the tote. If in your warehouse, you pick multiple orders into a single tote and separate the orders after picking while packing the orders, set this record to No.

Default Value(s)

Blank

  • Prompt On Exiting OE - Prompts the user to print all RF-excluded items on a work ticket upon exiting the order.

Outcome of setting this control record

If ordered items require work before picking, such as wire or pipe that needs to be cut, the system can exclude them from the RF queue if you exclude the locations holding the product in Zone Maintenance, and print them on a work ticket.

Default Value(s)

1

Example(s)

If you have a truck manifest with nine stops and you have one staging location that can handle material for a maximum of three stops, you must begin loading the truck to clear the staging location before the system can assign the fourth and subsequent orders to be picked.

Outcome of setting this control record

Provides the picker the flexibility of staging a tote prior to picking all the items on the order assigned to their pick group.

Default Value(s)

No

Example(s)

If set to Yes, if the tote becomes full before a user has picked all items on the order, the user can stage the tote and make it available for auditing. The user can then continue picking the rest of the order.

If set to N, users must wait until they have picked the entire order or the entire part of the order assigned to their pick group before staging the tote.

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

None

RF Automatically Close Order After Staging

For each branch, indicate whether to close orders picked using RF when all totes for the order are staged. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - When all totes are staged, an order closes without the operator having to use the Close hot key on the Staging screen.

  • No - When all totes are staged, an order does not close. To close the order the picker must use the Close hot key from the Staging screen.

  • Prompt - When all totes are staged, the final picker sees a message that the order is ready to close. That picker then has the option of exiting without closing the order. To close the order the picker must use the Close hot key from the Staging screen.

  • No - After the order is picked, the picker must display the Staging screen.

Outcome of setting this control record

If set to Yes, helps the flow of your Pick Up Now orders through the staging and closing process.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

A quick pick is for an order with a Pickup Now status.

Indicate whether the system queues an immediate cycle count if during picking a location's quantity becomes negative in the system. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - The system queues an immediate cycle count.

  • No - The system does not queue an immediate cycle count. The system selects the location for a cycle count through the warehouse operation queuing functionality.

Outcome of setting this control record

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

RF Default To Customer Backorder Status

For each branch, indicate whether to use a customer's shipping status as defined in the Backorder Status field in Customer Maintenance for orders backordered during the RF picking process. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - The RF picking backorder uses the default status from the Backorder Status field in Customer Maintenance for the ship-to customer on the order. If the Backorder Status field is blank or Ship When Specified, the backorder generation defaults to a status of Call When Complete. If the Backorder Status field is any other order status, the backorder generation defaults to that status.

  • No - The RF picking backorder uses Call When Complete as the order status for the backorder generation.

Outcome of setting this control record

Allows you to better control what the order status is for items that are placed on backorder during the order picking process.

Default Value(s)

No

Example(s)

You might have customers that prefer to not wait for items that are backordered. In those cases, set the Backorder Status field for the customer to Cancel, and set this control maintenance record to Yes. During the picking process, if it is found that an item is unavailable, the order is canceled instead of backordered.

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

None

RF Display Hazard Description And Print Pick Ticket

For each branch, indicate whether to display a product's hazardous material comments on the Pick screen and print the comments on the pick ticket. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Yes - When a hazardous materials comment is associated with a product, a C displays in red on the Pick screen. Tapping the C displays the comment. The comment prints below the product description on the pick ticket, even if you have the RF Generate Pick Ticket at Order Closecontrol maintenance record set to No.

  • No - Hazardous materials comments associated with a product do not display on the Pick screen and do not print on the pick ticket.

Outcome of setting this control record

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

  • Yes - The system builds a complete manifest before releasing any orders for picking.

  • No - Orders are available to pick without waiting for the complete manifest.

Outcome of setting this control record

If set to Yes, the system waits until an entire manifest is ready before it releases the orders on the manifest for picking. Using this picking method can be more efficient for packing orders and loading your delivery trucks.

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

For more information about manifest picking, see Manifest Picking Overview in the RF Warehouse Management documentation.

Default Value(s)

Blank

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

Even if this control maintenance record is set to No, if the RF Display Hazard Description And Print Pick Ticketrecord is set to Yes, a pick ticket prints so you can include the hazardous materials information with the product.

Options

  • Yes - Users enter the quantity they are picking from that location, the system changes the location type to REVIEW, the system generates an immediate cycle count for that location, and the system suggests the next alternate location with available inventory to complete the pick. If there are no other locations in the warehouse with enough product to complete the pick, the system alerts the user to back-order the item.

  • No - Users have the option to split or back-order the quantity. If they split the quantity, they must go to RF Location Maintenance to view other locations for the item in the warehouse.

Outcome of setting this control record

Determines the actions the system and the user takes when a location is short the quantity that the user was sent to pick.

Default Value(s)

No

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

If set to No, users must review in-process orders, as RF Location Maintenance displays on-hand quantities, not available quantities. A split or backorder generates an immediate cycle count but does not place the location in a REVIEW location type.

Indicate whether to consolidate all totes when a picked order is closed. ClosedMore:

Options

  • Never - Does not prompt to consolidate totes when a picked order is closed. A final tote location is not necessary.

  • Order - When the picker closes the order, the system prompts once in the Final Location Staging screen for a final location regardless of the number of totes for the order.

  • Tote - When the picker closes the order, the system displays the Close Tote screen, which shows all totes scanned to the order. The picker must scan each tote again. • Always - The system forces the user to stage the tote. The system does not allow closing of the order if staging locations have not been scanned to all totes.

Outcome of setting this control record

Setting this record to Yes or Always helps to ensure that all the products in totes for an order have made it to the staging location and are available for packing before anyone closes the order.

If your site does not stage totes, set this record to No.

Default Value(s)

Blank

Action if set to Null

Same as if set to No.

Additional Information

This record is useful if your branch has multiple pickers for single orders.
