Before you begin using Epicor Commerce (EC), you must indicate which products in your system are web-ready items and indicate how to map certain product details to the product types in Eclipse. Use the Product Settings tab to select the items to synchronize to the EC system and define additional product details.
Eclipse respects the Web Ready flag for products marked as web-ready in Product Maintenance. ECuses this flag as follows:
If the Web Ready flag is set to No, the product is excluded from EC despite its being ready for sync through the API Configurations settings for EC.
If the Web Ready flag is set to Yes, the product information syncs as usual.
If the Web Ready flag is left blank, then the system uses the API Configuration settings for EC as set below.
Note: You can use Mass Load to update this Web Ready flag in Product Maintenance to "1" indicating that the product is ready to sync to EC. You can also use Eclipse User-Defined Queues to update this flag.
To set up Eclipse Products for EC:
From the System > System Programming > API Maintenance menu, select API Configurations to display the API Configurations window.
Click the Epicor Commerce pane, if not already selected.
Click the Product Settings tab, if not already selected.
In the Web-Ready Items area, select the configurations to use when synchronizing products to EC:
In the Related Items area, map the Eclipse and EC terms for alternate products.
Note: These can all be blank and the API still renders the web page correctly. However, by populating these fields the system can offer options to the buyer visibly on the page without having to scroll or divert to another part of the website.
In the EC Static Attribute Mappings area, select how you want to display product information on the EC site. For example, you can map the main description or alternate description from your product records to these options used for EC.
Field | Description |
Attribute | The item you are synchronizing with EC, such as the title or product description. These are values the distributor wants to associate with a product. They are filterable and searchable in EC. These values are not editable. |
Source | The location from which the attribute information is being retrieved: Product File, PDW, or User-Defined. You can also leave this Empty. |
Value | The field or location within the Eclipse file from which the information value is being retrieved. |
In the Alternate SKU Mappings area, map the industry standard names or keywords required on the EC site for products. For example, if you use PDW, map the fields here to the metas in Eclipse to make it easier to find the products during a search.
Field | Description |
Source | The location from which the attribute information is being retrieved: Product File, PDW, or User-Defined. You can also leave this Empty. |
Value | The field or location within the Eclipse file from which the information value is being retrieved. |
Save your changes and exit the window.
