Setting Up Eclipse Product Details for EC

Before you begin using Epicor Commerce (EC), you must indicate which products in your system are web-ready items and indicate how to map certain product details to the product types in Eclipse. Use the Product Settings tab to select the items to synchronize to the EC system and define additional product details.

Eclipse respects the Web Ready flag for products marked as web-ready in Product Maintenance. ECuses this flag as follows:

Note: You can use Mass Load to update this Web Ready flag in Product Maintenance to "1" indicating that the product is ready to sync to EC. You can also use Eclipse User-Defined Queues to update this flag.

To set up Eclipse Products for EC:

  1. From the System > System Programming > API Maintenance menu, select API Configurations to display the API Configurations window.

  2. Click the Epicor Commerce pane, if not already selected.

  3. Click the Product Settings tab, if not already selected.

  4. In the Web-Ready Items area, select the configurations to use when synchronizing products to EC:

Field

Description

Price Line

Select the prices lines you want the system to select during uploads. If left blank, the system includes all prices lines. Use the Include / Exclude radio buttons to select if you want these price line items included in the synchronization or excluded from the synchronization.

Note: If you leave this field blank and select Exclude, the system uses all prices lines for the uploads because you are instructing the system to exclude none of the price lines. If you leave this field blank and select Include, then no price lines are instructing the system to include none of the price lines.

Status

Select the valid product statuses you want the system to select during uploads.

The default is Stock. If left blank, the system uses Stock.

Index Type

Select which product index types to include during upload: Primary or Include Catalog.

Include Catalog uploads both primary products and catalog products and allows the user to search on all products.

Units of Measure

Select whether how to send units of measure:

  • All UOMs - Sends UOM information as expected without restrictions. This is the default.

  • Sales UOM and Greater - The system does not synch any units of measure that are lower than the quantity break. For example, use this option when you have products that you do not sell by each, but only case or higher.

  • Sales UOM Only - (New in Release 9.0.4) When you trigger STK (stock) sync from EC, Eclipse usually sends an STK message for each unit of measure that the product records contains. By using this new Sales UOM Only option in the API configuration, only one STK message for a product is generated which corresponds to its sales unit of measure defined in Product Maintenance.

  1. In the Related Items area, map the Eclipse and EC terms for alternate products.

Note: These can all be blank and the API still renders the web page correctly. However, by populating these fields the system can offer options to the buyer visibly on the page without having to scroll or divert to another part of the website.

Field

Description

EC Related

For related products, indicate the valid product types you want to use. You can select and add related products to the cart along with the main product.

EC Cross-Sell

For additional products, select the valid product types you want to use for cross-selling items. Cross-selling items are impulse buys for the customer. They display on the shopping cart page as the shopping is reviewing the cart and getting ready to order. Customers can quickly add these items to the cart and include them in their order.

EC Upsell

For premium items you want to use as alternatives to the ordered products, select the valid product types that you can use for upselling. Products used in upselling usually have a higher margin or offer higher quality. These products display on the Product Detail area of the page.

ECC Add-on

Select the group types to use for add-on products. The groups are the Relationship Types with associated products in the Product Relationship Maintenance window. Add the group type to the ECC Add-on field to indicate the valid types you want to use for add-on products.

  1. In the EC Static Attribute Mappings area, select how you want to display product information on the EC site. For example, you can map the main description or alternate description from your product records to these options used for EC.

Field

Description

Attribute

The item you are synchronizing with EC, such as the title or product description. These are values the distributor wants to associate with a product. They are filterable and searchable in EC. These values are not editable.

Source

The location from which the attribute information is being retrieved: Product File, PDW, or User-Defined. You can also leave this Empty.

Value

The field or location within the Eclipse file from which the information value is being retrieved.

  1. In the Alternate SKU Mappings area, map the industry standard names or keywords required on the EC site for products. For example, if you use PDW, map the fields here to the metas in Eclipse to make it easier to find the products during a search.

Field

Description

The field or location within the Eclipse file from which the information value is being retrieved.

  1. Save your changes and exit the window.
