Applying General Settings for Eclipse Forms Printers

Before you can map document forms to trays and add or remove locations for a printer, you need to verify and update the general settings for the printer. Use the General Settings to change the network path for a printer if it has changed physical locations and the printer has a new network name. You can also change the branch to which the printer is assigned or disable specific trays from use.

Note: Click Refresh Printer Settings at any point during setup to make sure you have the most current information for the printer.

To apply general settings for a printer:

  1. From the System > System Files menu, select Eclipse Forms Printer Maintenance to display the Eclipse Forms Printer Maintenance window on the General Settings tab.

  2. In the Eclipse Printer Name field, enter the user-friendly name for the printer for which you want to assign forms and map printer trays, such as Warehouse Dock 1 or Sales Counter West Side.

The system populates the rest of the window.

  1. The Network Printer Name field displays the current printer and its path. To update the network path for the printer, click Change Printer and browse for the printer you want to load.

Note: The system browses for any printers loaded on your Eclipse server. Based on the characteristics set up for this printer, the system populates the tray information at the bottom of the window.

If the system cannot locate the printer information, the following message displays: The system cannot read the printer information for the printer entered. You can still apply the changes.

  1. If needed, in the Printer Branch field, change the branch to which this printer is assigned. Use the Multiple button to assign the printer to more than one branch.

The system displays available trays and form types for the printer.

  1. Select the Allow Use? check boxes for the corresponding trays to which you want to assign forms.

Important: You must select trays to enable to continue with setting printer options.

  1. In the Form Type column change the default form type, if needed, for each tray.

Note: You must have a printer set up with a PLAIN paper type for one tray that handles reports and other types of plain paper printing.

  1. Click Print Test Page to test the printing for the selected trays.

Note: If this is not the printer you want to configure and you want to add a new printer, click Add New Printer to access the New Wizard printer.

  1. Save your changes and exit the window
