Mapping Forms to Trays

Use the list of available forms to indicate which forms you normally print on the printer you are configuring. In addition, identify which tray on the printer you want to print from. For example, your pick tickets are required to print on yellow paper. Your yellow paper is loaded in the second tray. You select the Sales Pick Ticket Form check box and select Tray 2 in the Trays field.

Note: If you do not see the form you need in the list provided, please contact Eclipse Support.

If a user prints a document to a printer that does not have the appropriate form loaded, they are prompted to select the appropriate printer.

To map a form to a tray:

  1. From the System > System Files > Eclipse Forms menu, select Eclipse Forms Printer Maintenance to display the Eclipse Forms Printer Maintenance window on the Printer Settings tab.

  2. In the Eclipse Printer Name field, enter the user-friendly name for the printer for which you want to map forms to printer trays, such as Warehouse Dock 1 or Sales Counter West Side.

The system populates the rest of the window.

  1. Click the Map Form to Tray tab.

  2. In the Forms column, select the check boxes for any forms that you want use on this printer.

Note: If you select a form, but do not select a tray the system displays the following error message: Tray assignment required for all selected forms.

  1. In the Trays column for each check box selected in the Forms column, use the corresponding Trays field to select the tray from which you want the form to print.

If you select a tray that is not allowed, the system displays an error message indicating which trays to change, such as Tray 3 no longer allowed. Indicate which trays are valid on the Printer Settings tab using the Allow Use? check box.

Note: You must have a printer set up with a PLAIN paper type for one tray that handles reports and other types of plain paper printing.

  1. Save your changes and exit the window.
