Enabling Widgets and Menu Shortcuts

A widget is an extension of the Solar Eclipse menu bar where you can place shortcuts to menus and programs such as queues and screens. Widgets display in the widget toolbar at the bottom of the Solar Eclipse main window. A system administrator must enable the widget functionality for each user you want to be able to use widgets using the instructions below.

NOTE: THIS IS ONLY NEEDED FOR USERS USING RELEASE 8.7.9 OR LOWER.

To enable the widget and menu shortcut functionality:

  1. From the File menu, select Widgets > Settings to display the Widget Settings window.

If this menu option is not available to you, your system administrator needs to enable the widget functionality for you through the Solar Eclipse Preferences accessed from the File > Preferences menu.

  1. Select the Enable Widgets check box to enable the widget and menu shortcut functionality.

  2. Click Save & Close to save your settings and close the window.
