Table columns offer flexibility in how you view table data. You can adjust table columns in a window as you work, and if desired, save your settings so that your changes appear the next time you access the window. You can adjust table columns by re-sizing, rearranging, or sorting.
You can create user-defined columns on many tables in Solar Eclipse. For more information, see
To re-size a column:
Do one of the following:
To resize a column to the width of its widest cell, double-click the column heading.
To resize a column to a specific size, move your mouse cursor over the line that separates the table column. When the mouse cursor changes to a double-arrow, drag the column line left or right, as needed.
To save your settings, right-click on any column heading, and select Save Settings.
Note: Do not save your settings if you want the table to display in its default view the next time you open the window.
To rearrange columns:
Determine the order in which you want columns to display.
To move a column, click the column heading and hold down the left mouse button while you drag the column left or right to the desired position.
Repeat step 2 for each column you want to move.
To save your settings, right-click on any column heading, and select Save Settings.
Note: Do not save your settings if you want the table to display in its default view the next time you open the window.
To sort a column:
Determine which column you want to sort by. For example, you might want to sort by ship date, or by branch.
Click the column heading to sort by that column in ascending or descending order, as follows:
To sort in ascending order, click until the column heading displays an up-arrow.
To sort in descending order, click until the column heading displays a down-arrow.
To save your settings, right-click on any column heading, and select Save Settings.
Note: Do not save your settings if you want the table to display in its default view the next time you open the window.
