Creating and Editing Cuttable Product Groups

A cut group is a way to define whether cuts are parallel cuts, single cuts, or stack groups. Cut groups initially are set up to have least a single cut group and have that cut group set up as the default in order entry.

You can set up parallel groups based on how many parallel spools could be on a single sales order. Having these predefined will save time during the order entry process. You can also create duplicate parallel group in order entry.  If needed additional groups can be created on the fly, by duplicating the current group.  This would be just for that order and the group would not have any cut changes or reel options available.

To create a cut product group:

  1. From the Maintenance > Product Additional menu, select Cut Product Maintenance to display the Cut Product Maintenance window.

  2. From the side panel menu, select Cut Group Maintenance and click New.

  3. In the Enter New Group Name field, enter a title for the group that you want to create and click OK. By default, each group created is considered a single cut group.

  4. Select the Is Parallel? check box if the group is a parallel cut group.

  5. Select the Is Stack? check box if the group is a stack group.

  6. Assign cut charges, as needed.

  7. Assign cut reel options, as needed.

  8. Save your changes and exit the window.
