Begin by creating or selecting a non-stock product to which you are defining a steel stud product. Use Product Dimension Maintenance to create base stud products for each available size. At order entry users enter the base product and the system prompts users to select the stud, enter the length needed. Then, the system creates a new non-stock product for the stud product size entered. If you have a new order and enter the same sized stud, the system reuses the non-stock created. The system uses the base product and the effective date for the pricing calculation. The system compares the effective date to the price date of the sales order to determine the price.
