Mill Test Reports

Mill Test Reports (MTR) provide proof that certain products you have purchased meet standard industry specification. Companies working on regulated work sites, such as for government buildings, require proof that materials comply with international specifications standards, such as the American National Standard Institute (ASNI) or American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). These standards depend on the product type and can include physical size, chemical specification, or strength of material. Companies working on these regulated job sites are required to obtain MTR documents before being allowed to work on a job site with the materials.

Manufacturers physically stamp heat numbers on the material, such as pipe, for tracking purposes. Heat numbers work like batch numbers so companies can trace the material back to the manufacturer and the process batch in which it was made. These numbers provide traceability about the quality of the material being used.

Eclipse helps you track these heat numbers on the MTR documents and ensure that each product requiring an MTR documents ships with an MTR document. MTR documents must be attached to the product record through Purchase Order Entry or Product Maintenance. When you add these products to a sales order, you must also flag the sales order or line item to print MTRs. Then, the ship ticket prints the associated MTRs which display all the entered heat numbers for the products.

Note:Mill Test Reports are not designed to work with product kits.
