Use the Customer Inventory History Ledger to list every product that a customer purchased as of a given date for one or more branches.
In addition, use the ledger to look for and manage exceptional sales. These are the unusual sales, such as when a customer buys 100 of a product for a special job instead of their normal order of 12. Exclude such sales from the product demand calculations used for inventory forecasting by changing the order type to Except in the ledger.
To use the Customer Inventory History Ledger:
From the Orders > Inquiries menu, select Customer Inventory History Ledger to display the Customer Inventory History Ledger window.
Note: When accessing the Customer Inventory History Ledger from other windows, the system uses the customer information from those windows.
In the Customer field, enter the customer for whom to view activity.
In the Branch field, enter the branch in which to view customer activity, or enter All to view activity in all branches.
In the As Of Date field, enter the date up to which to view customer activity.
The system populates this field with today's date.
Click Update to display a list of transactions.
Review the following information:
Column | Description |
Reference | Transaction number, such as S1601942.002. |
Ship Date | Date the product shipped. |
Type | If needed, change the type, such as from Stock to Except. Note: You can only edit this field if the type is Stock or Except. |
Quantity | Quantity purchased. If it is a lot, the system displays *Lot* in this column. |
Branch | Branch from which the customer requested the product. |
Product Description | Description of the product purchased. |
Quantity Returned* | Represents the quantity that was previously returned from the original sale but does not include the quantity from the return currently being created. This column populates only when the return sales order references the original sales order. This field changes as returns are created. The number increases or decreases accordingly. |
Customer Allowed* | Displays the setting for the Customer Return Allowed field in the Product User Controls options from the Product Maintenance > Primary Inventory Maintenance window. If this field is set to Never, you must have the SOE.ALLOW.NONRETURN authorization key to enter a quantity in the # toReturn field. |
Vendor Allowed* | Displays the setting for the Vendor Return Allowed field in the Product User Controls options from the Product Maintenance > Primary Inventory Maintenance window. |
# to Returned* | Enter the quantity of the product being returned. The system keeps a running total of how many returns will be created in the status bar at the bottom of the queue. Return quantities are linked to the product ID and remain displayed even if a user changes the search parameters and clicks Update again. |
* Use the View Manager to display these columns by selected Return Queue.
