Use the Buy Line Maintenance window to record the vendor return policy information. You can associate vendor return days and policy with products in an entire buy line for each branch. The system uses the vendor return days with the products last receipt date to calculate an estimates return date. That date represents when material for that buy line should be returned back to the vendor without incurring re-stocking charges. The date displays on the Product Lifecycle Queue and the return policy displays in the Returned Goods Verification Queue.
Use vendor return policy comments to enter required vendor information or reminders about specific warranty information. The comment displays in the Returned Goods Verification window. If you have predefined comments using the

To enter a return policy for a buy line:
On the Purchase > Maintenance menu, select Buy Line Maintenance to display the Buy Line Maintenance window.
In the Buy Line ID field, enter the ID for the designated buy line.
From the Information menu, select Return Policy Maintenance to display the Return Policy Message window.
From the File menu, select Insert Branch.
In the Branch/Terr field, enter the branch for which you want to create a return policy.
In the Return Days field, enter the number of days the vendor allows returns for items in the buy line.
In the Return Policy field, enter the return policy in the text, such as "RMA is required if returning to Oatey Corp." This field has a 35-character limit.
The text entered here displays as view-only on the Return Goods Verification window. It does not display with the product, Return Goods Queue or on a return purchase order.
In the Return Comments field, enter any additional comments you want to display on the Return Goods Verification window for your return. Return comments can be edited from the verification window, if needed.
Note: The system uses the text as entered. All carriage returns are respected regardless of screen real estate to display the message. If your message does not display as anticipated, check your formatting in this field.
