Changing the Status on Sales Orders

The Status tab details when and how various shipments leave your warehouse. For each order generation, you specify an order status specific to the products on that generation.

This tab displays automatically after you exit or save the Bodytab information. If any Headertab information is required, you must also enter and save that before the Status tab displays.

Note: When a sales order status is changed to Invoice, the order is removed from the Open Order Status Review Queue.

As an order moves through the system, there may be cause to change the status based on what is happening. For example, an order is opened as a Call When Specified, but the customer is in the area on business and can pick up with inventory. The status changes to Pickup Now.

You must be assigned the SOE.OPEN.ORDER.EDIT authorization key to change the order status.

Note: Manage the Quote Status field values through the Header tab. Use the Valid SOE Quote Statuses control maintenance record to manage the statuses required.

To change the status on a sales order:

  1. Locate the order for which you need to change the status and click the Status tab.

Note: You can also change the status by generation from the Detail Scheduling tab in the Status column.

  1. In the Order Status column, press F10 and select the order status you want to use.

  2. Complete any additional fields that require entry. For example, if you select Ship On, you are required to enter a date in the Ship Date column.

  3. At the prompt, confirm that you want to change the status as you indicated.

Note: You may be prompted if your status change triggers the system to overcommit product. Confirm or cancel your change.
