Overriding Prices on Orders

Authorized users can use the Pricing Override window to change the prices for selected order items or for an entire order. When you apply a price change, your changes apply to all subsequent items entered, unless you then override those prices. You can also reprice the entire order at any time.

You can override an order's prices in several ways. You can specify a customer type or price class or edit a price basis formula. For example, a formula can specify a 10 percent discount from list price.

Use the Direct COGS Always Vendor Pricecontrol maintenance record if you want to always use the vendor price for direct cost of goods sold on orders.

Note: You can extend split quantity pricing with level 3 authorization set for the SOE.SPLIT.PRICING authorization key. For more information, see Split Quantity Pricing Details.

In the Price/Cost Override window, if a user has the SOE.COST.EDIT authorization key, it overrides the SOE.BID.COST.EDIT key.

To override prices:

  1. Create or open an order and display the order's Body tab.

  2. From the Edit Order menu, select Pricing to display the Order Pricing Override window.

  3. In the Price Date field, enter the date the pricing override takes effect. This date determines which price sheets will be used for the products on the order.

By default, the system populates this field with the current order date. This field does not support variable dating.

  1. In the Expiration field, enter the date the pricing override is no longer valid.

  2. To override pricing, do one or more of the following things:

Note: If no strategic pricing has been setup for this ship-to, the system checks the bill-to information.

Note: This field is not active for purchase orders.

  1. Select Reprice All Items if you want to reprice all items on this sales order according to the price override information you are entering on this screen. The system does not support split quantity pricing when repricing items.

Note: If you have the Update COGS On P/O When COGS Is Overridden On Invoiced Directcontrol maintenance record set to Yes, the system updates the COGS on the P/O side of an invoiced direct order to match the COGS set on the sales order.

  1. If you selected the Reprice All Items check box, and you also want reprice any items that were previously overridden on this sales order, select Reprice Overrides. Leave the check box unselected if you do not want to reprice previous overrides.

Note: This check box is only available if you have also selected the Reprice All Items check box.
