Frequently, orders are broken up into different generations based on specific criteria, such as ship via or ship date. The system provides options when viewing your orders to make it easier to see which items are on different generations without having to view line item scheduling, detail scheduling, or the Status tab.
Note: The following functions are provided for sales orders, purchase orders, and transfers.
To make it easier to see the products on different generations, from an open order, select Options > Highlight Items on Different Generations. When this function is selected, a check mark displays to the left of the selection on the menu. When selected, the immediately system uses a different highlight for items that are on the same generation.
By default, the system uses a blue highlight. You can select the colors for the system to use within tables through the File > Preferences functionality. For more information, see Table Color Guidelines.
To make it easier to see the products on different generations, from an open order, select Options >Show Generation Info as Tooltip. When this function is selected, a check mark displays to the left of the selection on the menu.
When selected, the system provides a small pop-up box when your cursor is over the generation. The data that displays shows the quantity, status, ship date, and ship via for the generation. It is a quick way to see the generation data.
