Assigning Customers to Categories for Strategic Pricing

Define the valid customer categories in the Strategic Pricing Customer Categorycontrol maintenance record. You can define as many categories as is appropriate for your business, however Strategic Pricing Associates recommends using approximately six categories. Typical Categories include Contractor, OEM, and Dealer.

You need to assign each customer to a category prior to exporting your data for Strategic Pricing Associates.

Note: In addition to the procedures below, you can also assign categories using the Eclipse mass load functionality.

From the Maintenance > Price Maintenance > Strategic Pricing menu, select Strategic Pricing Maintenance to display the Strategic Pricing Maintenance window.
In the left pane, click Customers to display the customer settings for exporting data.
In the Customer field, enter or select the customer to assign to a category.
In the Customer Category field, select the category to assign to the customer.

The drop-down list displays the customer categories defined in the Strategic Pricing Customer CategoryStrategic Pricing Customer Categorycontrol maintenance record.

From the File menu, select Save to save the customer category setting.

From the Maintenance menu, select Customer to display the Customer Maintenance window and display the customer record to which you want to assign a customer category.
From the Pricing menu, select Price Information to display the Customer Pricing Information window and click the Additional tab.
In the Strategic Pricing Category field, select the category to assign to the customer.

Press F10 to display the customer categories defined in the Strategic Pricing Customer Category Strategic Pricing Customer Category control maintenance record.

From the File menu, select Save to return to the Customer Maintenance window.
From the File menu, select Save to save the customer record and exit the window.
