If you subscribe to the Platinum Pricing Service, your Strategic Pricing data includes an additional factor called sensitivity that you can use in your strategic freight calculations. Strategic freight sensitivity is a rank that you can assign to each customer sensitivity level that indicates how reactive a customer is to changes, based on Strategic Pricing Associates market research. Strategic freight combines sensitivity ranks for each combination of customer category and size, creating a matrix of freight factors to use during the Strategic Freight calculation. Typically, as the sensitivity level increases, the freight factors decrease.
The sensitivity data expires according to your contract with Strategic Pricing Associates. After the data expires, the strategic freight calculations no longer contain a factor for sensitivity. View the expire date in the
To define strategic freight sensitivity factors:
From the Maintenance > Price Maintenance > Strategic Pricing menu, select Strategic Pricing Maintenance to display the Strategic Pricing Maintenance window.
In the pane, click Freight Sensitivity to display the freight sensitivity settings.
In the Customer Sensitivity Level field, select the customer sensitivity, such as Low or Very High, for which you want to se freight sensitivity factors.
For each customer category and size combination, enter the freight sensitivity factor that Strategic Pricing Associates provided to you.
From the File menu, select Save to save your changes.
